This book presents an innovative model of collective housing based on principles such as the right of use, collective ownership and self-promotion. Through a detailed approach, it explores the essential elements for realising a project of this type, from the formation of an organised group with a common goal to the economic structure, the choice of location and the necessary technical assistance.
Throughout the pages, the reader will discover how housing co-operatives have succeeded in providing affordable housing, outside of property speculation, promoting profound social change. With a comprehensive perspective and based on experiences from various countries, this book fills a gap by bringing together, in a way that is accessible to the general public, a complete analysis of this housing model, highlighting its potential to redefine the way we conceive the right to housing.
