*”(…) We live in a time of great upheaval. It’s as if you can feel an old era dying and a new one being born. With this process of death and rebirth come inevitable birth pains, tensions, and challenges. It is both a very rewarding and challenging time to be a leader.
True leadership is about recognizing that the current path no longer works and that it’s time to move toward a new one. True leadership is daring to cross the threshold from the old to the new, even without having all the answers before embarking on the journey. The future needs each of us to begin the Regenerative Leadership Journey — not next year, but now, with this book in your hands. This journey can be deeply rewarding and extremely exciting — for it is the journey of life and heart-centered leadership, in service to all forms of life.
The only thing truly holding us back is our own fears, insecurities, and anxieties about leaving behind the comfort of old ways. We don’t need to build Rome in a day. We need to embrace each day as a step in a journey, learning and becoming more conscious and authentic as we move forward.
Smart and responsible leaders now have both a business and moral imperative to start working according to Life’s Logic. This is a big shift for most conventional leaders today and is already happening as we write this book. In doing so, we have gathered cases and spoken with countless pioneering executives, and it is clear to us that this new norm is quietly becoming the prevailing trend.
Organizations that do not embrace the regenerative approach to leadership and organizational development will, in time, become ineffective, uncompetitive, and unfit for the future.
The future is ours to create. We are, at this moment, creating the future that our children and our children’s children will inherit.”*
