A Cratera is a book with text by Jorge Gonçalves and illustrations by Francisco Queimadela that tells the story of an imaginary (or perhaps real) place whose origin is shrouded in mystery.
The A Cratera is an allegory that is both disturbing and deeply credible.
The author reveals a remarkable ability to express, with sensitive aesthetic precision, what emerges from the inner ‘crater’ present in each individual.
In this exhibition, primordial impulses are revealed, such as hope, flight, search and other relevant manifestations of the human condition.
We invite the reader to immerse in the weaving of the narrative, allowing themselves to be led along its symbolic paths, exploring the text in its non-linear and even unforeseen lines.
It seems to us that this narrative could allow us to cross the boundaries of the imaginary and motivate the ‘reconstitution’ of the individual present-world in relation to the collective.
