Fabio Rubio Scarano is Curator of the Museu do Amanhã, holder of the UNESCO Chair in Futures Literacy and Full Professor of Ecology at UFRJ. A forest engineer with a PhD in Ecology, Fabio served on the UN panels on climate change (IPCC) and biodiversity (IPBES) and held senior leadership positions at the Jardim Botânico do Rio, Conservation International and the Fundação Brasileira para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável.
He has received two Jabuti Prizes for Literature in the Natural Sciences category, for the books Biomas Brasileiros: Retratos de um País Plural and Mata Atlântica: Uma História do Futuro, and is also the author of the acclaimed book Regenerantes de Gaia.
