We realised as we read this book that Diogo didn’t try to transform, change or question places, ways and circumstances. He simply moulded himself, adapted. He didn’t resist, he was resilient. He lived the circumstances, he lived himself at every moment, not separating the ‘I’ from the experience of the place, the people and the land.
And it is in this broad sense that we see his connection to Regeneration.
He sought his own balance, made room for an understanding of himself in relation to people, his resilience in the face of circumstances, his relationship with places, the potential of the communities where he lived and worked, and his sensitivity to noticing the evolution of living systems.
Perhaps it’s no coincidence that the book refers 230 times to the Sun, 161 times to Water, 115 times to the Earth and 78 times to the Dream.
From a general view of this book, and in particular of the journey, one realises that there is a fine sensitivity, a strong ability to connect with unknown human beings and, on the other hand, a poetic and humane sensitivity, which can often be seen in his descriptions.
We bring this book to life with joy and the hope that it will inspire you to experience and promote tourism that heals places, people and the vast relationships between all living beings.
Diogo Campos is more than just an Environmental Engineer and Master in Environmental Systems Management, he’s clearly a storyteller!
He was an environmental consultant and businessman until an ‘inner explosion’ made him decide to travel to South America, with a one-way ticket. He had an unforgettable experience, but the most extraordinary thing about this trip was the birth of another dream, which he is now living and building together with Susana, his partner.
In 2021 they fulfilled their new dream – to live in Portugal on the Alentejo coast, on a farm where they practise organic and regenerative farming, which they call TERRAPÃ. It is in this environment that he imagined that he now sees his children grow up.
